RCSFUN SAFETY

SAFETY COMES FIRST ON THE RCSFUN MIDWAY

When Parents bring their families to a fair or similar event, they have one overriding expectation: that they are bringing their family into a safe environment and at RCS events, that assurance is our number one concern.

RCS is committed to providing the safest and friendliest environment possible. We are a family owned and operated business, says President and CEO Guy Leavitt, and many of our employees’ children ride these rides, so you can be confident that safety is a priority.

RCS performs daily computerized ride and equipment inspections using automated maintenance management created by RCS. Additionally, all rides are inspected during setup and takedown.

Not only does RCS have a comprehensive maintenance and inspection schedule, they also take steps to make certain their ride operators and midway workers are trained and knowledgeable regarding safety and cleanliness. That’s why all employees must pass a drug screening test and complete a rigorous training and orientation program.

Substance Abuse Policy

We believe our substance abuse policy is one of the strictest in the nation if not the strictest. RCS was one of the first carnivals in the industry, and we believe the first on the West Coast, to implement an aggressive drug-testing program for ride positions. Twelve years ago we implemented a mandatory pre-employment drug screening for ALL employees on our midway, including independent contractors. All personnel is subject to random testing at any time. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for substance abuse. We also perform background checks on all employees to maintain the safety of all who work and visit our midway. How does this affect the fairs we do business with and our guests? When families select our midway for entertainment they are assured that management and staff are doing everything possible for a safe, fun experience for themselves and for their children. When fairs contract with us they are confident of our commitments.

Ride Operator Training

All of our ride supervisors are Aims and/or NAARSO certified with over 5000 hours of training. Some have obtained the same credentials that could qualify them to be independent ride inspectors. Annually, ride supervisors are required to up their status one level in a certified safety and/or ride operation program. Our management approach with an extensive supervisory staff is second to none in the nation. Our range of experience is vast, from marketing and guest relations to technical amusement ride training. Our dedication to the safety of our guests and employees is our number one priority in our operations. We contract with 16 ride supervisors to oversee our operations. We also employ 12 top-level staff or foremen who have obtained many of the same certifications as their supervisors in addition to their 10-hour OSHA compliance certifications.
